Special Birthday Honors for Those 80 and Over
Both Betty Kingshott and Art Leutscher celebrate their birthday on August 10,
2005. Betty will be 80 and Art will be 90.
Robert Blink will celebrate his 70th birthday on Aug. 13. Let's remember these
birthdays with cards or a visit. Both Robert Blink and Art Leutscher live at
the DeBoer Nursing Home,

You Are Invited!
Lyle and Betty Kingshott and family invite you to join in celebrating Betty's
80th birthday. This event will be on Saturday, August 13, 2005 from 3-5 PM in
the Fellowship Hall. Please no gifts or cards. Just bring a hug!

BYP Dodgeball Team Shows Sportsmanship
Congrats to the BYP Dodgeball Team who, though losing twice, played some great
dodgeball and showed great team spirit and sportsmanship! Check out the
bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall for pictures and details.

Intermediate Club Picnic
Intermediate Club Picnic is August 10, 6:00 PM at the Roosevelt Park Community
Building. The cost is $5.00 each. Come and enjoy a delicious meal in air
conditioned comfort. Featuring our famous White Elephant Auction. Initials M -
Z bring a wrapped "white elephant" for sale. Bring your change for bidding. A
sign-up sheet is on the table in the Fellowship Hall. If you have questions,

Christian Sympathy
We extend our sympathy and support in Christ to the family on the passing away
of Marguerite Cope, Gerry Langeland's sister. May our Father in heaven comfort
you with His peace and the promise of the resurrection of life everlasting in
Jesus Christ.

Elders Report:
Classis Ministry Shares for 2006 are 179, down from 185 for 2005.

Council Report:
1. Approved estimated cost of painting the church and repairing the parking
lots for $16,000 to $23,000.
2. Selected 139 members for the congregation to choose from for delegates for
Council 2006.
3. Delegates to Classis, Sept. 22, 2005:
Elder: Tom Holtrop, Deacon: Dave Brown.
4. Council decided not to meet in August, next meeting will be Wed., Sept. 28,
2005 at 7:30 PM.

Education Committee Note
Important Education Committee Meeting Tuesday, August 9, at 7:00 PM. Final
planning for the new Church School year.

Library News
The Library Committee has a list of new young adult books that are now in the
church library. Please find the list enclosed in this newsletter for your
convenience. Enjoy reading some great books this summer!

Learn Praise & Worship Songs
We had a great time singing Wednesday, August 3. We'll do it again August 17 at
7:00 PM in the choir room. Come and learn more of the Praise & Worship Songs.

Needed for a Community Member
Good used clothes for school for a girl size 14 and another girl size 5
toddler. Any donations can be brought to the church office.

Parsonage Open House
On Sunday August 21, after the morning service, there will be an Open House in
the newly-redecorated and newly-occupied parsonage. Coffee, punch and other
refreshments will be served.

Summer Picnic
McLaughlin Neighborhood Association is throwing its annual Summer Picnic
Saturday, August 20th. Join us for a time of food, fellowship, and fun! If you
are interested in helping out or have any questions, talk with Dob Sieplinga.

Golf Outing
Athletic Boosters Golf Outing for WMCHS will be held on Sept. 17.

BYP Mystery Trip Note
BYP Mystery trip is approaching! We will be leaving church Friday August 19th
in the late afternoon and returning Saturday evening. Please let Marty or Heidi
know if you plan on coming along ASAP, so we can make arrangements for the
passports and malaria shots.

Help Needed for Food Give-Away
Service Ministries of Muskegon is sponsoring a food truck from Harvest
Gleaners. It will be at Allen Ave. CRC Wednesday August 10 from 10:00 - 11:00
AM, and volunteers are needed for giving out food. Please contact Marty Sytsema
at 231-750-2667 if you are able to help.

Love INC Notes
Love INC continues to need phone volunteers, especially beginning in September
when many college volunteers return to school. Call 773-3448.

Love INC has an opening for a part-time receptionist funded through Area Agency
on Aging. We will train you how to help the people who call us. Call 773-3448.

Golfers save Sept. 27th for the Love Charity Golf Outing. $125 per person,
includes cart, breakfast and Hors D?oeuvre lunch. Fifty dollars of your
registration fee is tax deductible. A team fee is $500. Call Gail for
registration form 773-3448.

Save September 20th for Love's Volunteer Banquet. Join us. We would love to
share with you God's blessings at Love. More details to come.

Worship on the Waterfront
This Sunday, August 7, 2005, Worship On the Waterfront features Dr. James
MacDonald & Harvest Bible Praise Team to the Grand Haven Waterfront Stadium
from 7:30 - 8:45 PM. Dr. MacDonald is the radio minister of Walk In the Word
and pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago.The praise team from his church
will assist him in hosting a wonderful evening of music and the Word. This year
W.O.W. will be held at the stadium, rain or shine, so come dressed for the
